A two-day journey that blends the power of ancestral history with the natural magic of the Andean Chocó. Among ancient Yumbo vestiges, misty forests, and hummingbirds painting the air with their wings, this route offers an intimate encounter with Ecuador’s cultural and natural heritage.

Day 1 – In the Footsteps of the Yumbo People

Tulipe Museum

The adventure begins at the Tulipe Museum, a ceremonial center built by the Yumbo people around sacred waters. Along its trails and archaeological pieces, visitors uncover the symbolism and spiritual depth of this ancient civilization. (Entrance: $3)

Casa del Colibri

The route continues to Casa del Colibrí in Mindo, where dozens of hummingbirds dance among the gardens, offering a unique sensory experience. (Entrance: $5)

Day 2 – The Cloud Forest and Its Biodiversity

Mindo-Nambillo Reserve

The second day begins early, with a hike through the Mindo-Nambillo Reserve. Amid waterfalls, orchids, and endemic birds, visitors breathe in the living essence of the Andean Chocó. (Entrance: $5)

Local coffee farms

A guided tour of local coffee farms reveals the artisanal process of coffee making—from seed to cup. (Entrance: $15)

Mindo

Lunch is enjoyed  in the heart of Mindo, featuring authentic regional flavors.

Mashpi Shungo

The route concludes with an artisanal chocolate workshop at Mashpi Shungo, where travelers learn about cacao and savor its transformation into fine chocolate. (Entrance: $15)
