The event attracts a wide participation of specialized press media, both local and international, related to news, tourism, birds and nature. Notable publications include magazines such as Birdwatch, Birdwatching and BBC Wildlife, newspapers such as the Telegraph and tourism books such as Bradt.

Participation of Quito Turismo
Quito Turismo, Quito's Tourism Promotion Office, has participated in the Birdfair since 2009 consecutively, promoting bird tourism in the Metropolitan District of Quito. Since 2016, a joint communication strategy has been implemented with the private sector attending this fair to better publicize the various species of birds that inhabit Quito.
For Quito Turismo, participation in the Global Birdfair is a fundamental opportunity for the promotion and tourism promotion of the destination in the avitourism segment. Through networking with the media and industry players focused on the Latin American tourism product, Quito will be able to strengthen its relations and presence in the European market, thus generating new business opportunities in this important segment.
Birdwatcher Profile Promotion
The profile of a birdwatcher is characterized by:
- AgeGenerally middle-aged or older, with an age range between 45 and 65 years old.
- Educational level: They are usually highly educated, with university or postgraduate studies.
- Income: They have medium-high incomes, which allows them to devote resources to hobbies and travel.
- Interests: Their main interest is the observation and identification of birds in their natural habitat. They enjoy nature and wildlife.
- Motivations: They seek nature tourism and ecotourism experiences that allow them to observe and photograph birds. They are attracted by the possibility of seeing rare species.
- Activities: They devote a large part of their trips to birdwatching, carrying binoculars, cameras and field guides. They also participate in ornithological workshops and excursions.
- Destinations: They prefer destinations with high bird species diversity, such as protected areas, nature reserves and forests. Some travel specifically to places recognized for their avifaunal richness.
- Spending: They tend to have a medium-high expenditure on their trips, earmarked for transportation, accommodation, guides and specialized equipment.
