The Basilica of the National Vow

Its architecture is not conventional, we would believe that cherubs are perched around the Basilica; on the contrary, the project was approved in 1883 at the time where gargoyles and endemic animals were the protagonists, so it is classified as a neo-Gothic architecture.

It has a rectangular base that extends from southwest to northeast, in the exteriors we find huge wooden doors containing biblical scenes drawn inside in a total of 7 entrance doors. At the top we observe two towers of 115m high where the viewpoints are located, and that is where you can enter and get a panoramic view of the city.

As for the interior of the Basilica, it is a work of art.

How to get to the Basilica?

It is located in the Historic Center of Quito on Carchi and Venezuela streets. Carchi and Venezuela.
