Four unforgettable days to experience Quito from its colonial heart to the lush beauty of the Andean Chocó — a natural gem recognized by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve. This journey invites travelers to walk among gilded churches, vibrant communities, and forests blooming with orchids and butterflies.

Day 1 – The Historic Heart of Quito

Tienda Quito

The adventure begins at Tienda Quito, the meeting point for exploring the Historic Center.

Plaza Grande

Plaza Grande opens with its daily bustle, surrounded by the Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, and the Archbishop’s Palace. A climb to the Catedral Primada’s domes reveals sweeping views of the city. (Entrance: $4)

San Francisco Convent

The route continues to the San Francisco Convent, one of Quito’s colonial treasures. Here, visitors can explore the city’s first brewery, climb its towers for panoramic views, and admire its baroque choir. (Entrance: $5)

Church of La Compañía de Jesús

The Church of La Compañía de Jesús dazzles with its golden baroque interior — a true masterpiece of Latin American art. (Entrance: $3 – $6)

San Francisco Convent

Lunch at 1:00 p.m. in recommended spots such as Claroscuro, Casa de los Geranios, or Misky Food Experience. (Average: $24 – $30)

La Ronda

In the afternoon,  La Ronda Street welcomes visitors to traditional artisan workshops, and at 3:10 p.m., the El Panecillo viewpoint offers panoramic views of the city beneath the winged Virgin. (Entrance: $1)

Jacchigua Ballet

The Jacchigua Ballet crowns the day with live music, dance, and dazzling costumes celebrating Ecuador’s living culture. (Entrance: $30 – $40)

Day 2 – The Middle of the World and Yunguilla

Ciudad Mitad del Mundo

The journey begins at Ciudad Mitad del Mundo, where visitors can stand with one foot in each hemisphere. (Entrance: $5)

Intiñán Museum

The Intiñán Museum amazes with experiments and tales of pre-Columbian cultures. (Entrance: $5)

Temple of the Sun

Yunguilla Forest

The path leads to Yunguilla Forest, where the local community hosts travelers with forest walks, jam and dairy workshops, and home stays or camping.

Day 3 – Orchids and Coffee of the Andean Chocó

Yunguilla - Breakfast 

Breakfast at the morning in Yunguilla (Cost: $5)

El Pahuma Reserve

The route continues to El Pahuma Reserve, home to more than 300 orchid species and birds such as toucans and cock-of-the-rocks. (Entrance: $3)

Frajares Farm

Frajares Farm opens its coffee fields to share each stage of cultivation, roasting, and tasting — a true artisanal experience. (Entrance: $35)

Lunch

Lunch at 1:30 p.m. (Cost: $20 – $30). Arrival at Piripe Lodge at 3:40 p.m., where forest trails and tranquility offer a peaceful retreat. Dinner is served at 7:00 p.m., closing a day full of aromas and discovery.

Day 4 – Chocolate and Butterflies in Mashpi

Pambiliño Reserve 

Visit to Pambiliño Reserve introduces a vibrant butterfly garden — a living testament to the fragility and beauty of the ecosystem. (Entrance: $3)

Lunch at 1:00 p.m. within the reserve (Cost: $35)

 

Mashpi Shungo Farm

The journey continues to Mashpi Shungo Farm, where visitors explore the cacao’s path from pod to fine chocolate. (Entrance: $15)
