Imagine a city that comes alive with a spectacle of lights, colors and music, transforming into a vibrant canvas under the night sky. That's exactly what happened in Quito during the 'Quito Luz de America' Festival. This magical event, which attracted a crowd of 120,000 people at its climax, projected stunning artistic designs on the iconic facades of San Francisco, Santo Domingo and the Teatro Sucre, creating an unforgettable experience that captivated everyone present.
For three days, nearly 270,000 people were immersed in a sea of captivating activities.
Quito Luz de América - Mapping Festival
Quito's historic streets were transformed into a lively stage, with thousands of people exploring seven points of interest where immersive lights, mapping projections and other artistic representations were displayed. The light balloons on 24 de Mayo Boulevard and the decorative moon in La Ronda neighborhood were just some of the highlights. In addition, Plaza Hermano Miguel and Calle Espejo became the epicenter of a rave-style party, with immersive lights and DJ music elevating the party spirit.
The event had a first class security and information operation, with around 2,000 people per day, including personnel from the National Police, Metropolitan Transit Agency, Fire Department and Control Agents, among others. In addition, the work of Quito Turismo, Itecsur, and several companies and public institutions was essential to ensure the safety and smooth running of the event.
The festival not only offered an impressive visual spectacle, but also boosted the local economy, especially in food and beverage establishments. Attendees also had the opportunity to explore the museums of La Moneda, De la Ciudad, Del Carmen Alto, Casa de María Augusta Urrutia and Iglesia de la Compañía, which extended their hours until after 10:00 pm.
Quito Luz de America' left a positive mark, with the activation of the citizens who enjoyed the event during this holiday.
